Welcome to the Tri-City Country Club!
The Tri-City Country Club has been a part of the Kennewick community for 70 years. It was the forethought of the original founders and all of the following Boards of Trustees and members through the years that has brought us to where we are now.
The original founders of the Twin City Golf Club wanted to build a golf course for all in the area to enjoy. As the years passed, the officers and staff of the Club continued to provide both golf and social activities to make the Club an attractive facility to belong to. Times have changed a lot for private Clubs. Private clubs throughout the country have struggled due to changes in liquor and tax laws as well as competition from other facilities.
Our current Board, Committees and Staff have worked hard to offer amenities while trying to live within the club’s budget. It is important to remind ourselves that we are stewards of the Tri-City Country Club and all that it stands for: Building the Club Experience!
The Club Experience revolves around; golf, dining, social activities, swimming, fitness facilities, amenity programs and much, much more! The Club gives friends and family a place to go and get away from the rigors of our daily lives and treat ourselves to the Club experience that you richly deserve.
There are several major projects that will need to be addressed in the future. Renovations will eventually be needed on many areas of the Club including: plumbing and electrical, irrigation system, parking lot, swimming pool, pro shop, cart barns and more.
Our goal is to develop a long range strategic plan to provide for the success of the Tri-City Country Club not only for now, but for another 70 plus years.
We are the stewards of this beautiful facility for now and the future!

FROM THE MANAGER
Once again we find ourselves getting ready for the Annual Meeting of the Membership at the Tri-City Country Club. The years all seem to go by so fast. We have seen many improvements to the facility this year and our golf course continues to improve. The balance of improving our conditions and working with very tight budgets in a challenging economic environment offers many challenges. Over the last five years we have managed our finances very aggressively to put the Country Club in a much better position to face our future challenges. At some point we must address our infrastructure issues with our beautiful old clubhouse. The upstairs of the clubhouse is in fair condition, but the restrooms, locker rooms and kitchen are all in need of improvement. How and when these issues are addressed is to be determined. The board has been seeking input through focus groups to assess members’ feelings about the club and also their wants and needs from the club in the future as well as what it will take for the club to be successful well into the future. These are exciting times and challenging times. Our goal will remain to make the club “Your home away from home” and to cater to you and your guests’ needs. Please contact me with all of your comments and concerns.
Respectfully,
Chris Isaacson, General Manager

FROM YOUR GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT:
Fall is in the air. Nights are getting colder, grass is growing and filling back in. Trees are starting to turn with fall colors. Speaking of trees, I have had several members ask about trees around the course that are coming down. The trees of the Tri-City Country Club make this course what it is. Having established trees in a desert makes this a beautiful oasis.
The Green Committee and I have started our tree management program. Working with several arborists and the USDA Extension service, we have come up with a plan to manage our trees. We have several old growth trees that are dying/dead or diseased that need to be removed. There are also several trees that have been encroaching on the green causing disease from their roots and several that are providing too much shade. Greens do not do well with shade and fade out without proper photosynthesis.
Trees are being grown for us that we will be planting in many different areas throughout the golf course. The types of trees vary depending on where they are to be planted. We also, as funds become available, will start pruning back trees that need to be pruned. Also, stumps will be ground this next spring.
The management of these trees is not based upon anyone’s personal bias about which tree they hit all the time that needs to come down. It will continue to be based upon maintenance practices and what the Green Committee decides what is best for the future of your golf course.

FROM THE PRO SHOP
PLEASE NOTE THE WINTER HOURS ARE NOW IN EFFECT!
Fall is finally showing its colors after some incredible weather in September. As the days get cooler and frost days begin, the grasses on the golf course become quite a bit more fragile. I’m sure there will be frost delays where we will get players going as soon as the frost is gone, but a top priority will be not damaging the golf course.
Cart control is a major issue at all times of the year, but especially important during the winter months when any damage incurred doesn’t recover until spring. So here are some cart rules that we all should follow!
1. Always try to take a minimum number of golf carts to the course. Share whenever possible.
2. Always keep your power carts at least 30’ from the greens (60’ is preferable) and use the cart paths as much as possible.
Congratulations to Terry Jander for making a hole in one on #8 using a 7 iron during the Cancer Center Tournament
The golf shop has a great selection of outerwear at very competitive pricing and many year end sales.
